The Kaslo Curling Club was saddened to hear of the passing of Lorry Cann, a lifetime club member, on July 22, 2021.

Lorry and his wife Rose, also a lifetime club member, were indispensable at the club for decades. Lorry dedicated several years to bringing along the next generation of curlers, and his name is on many of the trophies that line the club walls.

Even after Lorry stopped curling (and that wasn’t too long ago!), he and Rose would drop by the lounge to watch the occasional Friday night game, and they were sure to check out the Kaslo Bonspiel every January. It was always a joy to talk curling strategy with him, and his enthusiasm for the sport knew no bounds.

The Kaslo Curling Club owes a great debt to Lorry Cann for keeping the spirit of curling alive and strong in Kaslo for many years, and he will be missed.
