AGM on Wed, Sep 29 at 7 pm

The Kaslo Curling Club is a registered non-profit society, and our AGM will be on

Wednesday, September 29 at 7 pm at the club.

• People with health conditions or with physical, cognitive or mental impairments who cannot wear one
• People who cannot remove a mask on their own
• Children under the age of 12

Your current Board is:

• Darryl Slobodian
• Mark Dobroski
• Kathy Alexanders
• Carlos Jordan
• Rita Rasmussen

All Board positions are 1 year terms ending at the AGM.

The ice may also be available that night for you to get some slides in (happy dance!), but we’ll confirm that as we get closer to the date.

Curling and COVID this season

Update (Sep 15): A Curl BC Sep 13 announcement has changed the youth exemption age from under 12 to under 22.

The Kaslo Curling Club will be following Curl BC’s guidelines again this season with regards to COVID and Provincial Health Orders (PHO).

The good news is that it looks like we can have fairly normal play this year with no masks, two sweepers, and sweeping the opposing team’s rocks behind the T-line.  The Curl BC guidelines are here:

Aug 24: https://www.curlbc.ca/curl-bc-statement-on-b-c-s-new-proof-of-vaccination-order/

Sep 13: https://www.curlbc.ca/curl-bcs-statement-on-youth-sports-health-order/

However, the current PHO requires everyone entering the building to show proof of having been vaccinated:  one shot as of Sep 13 and full vaccination as of Oct 24.

Please remember that you’re not fully vaccinated until 7 days after your second shot.  Only children under 12 children and youth under 22 years old are exempt, and the vaccination requirement is in effect until at least Jan 31, 2022.

Masks are still required in the building except on the ice.  Masks can be removed in the lounge while eating or drinking.

More info will be coming your way soon regarding the start of the season, the AGM, and equipment orders.  The ice plant has been started up, so curling is just around the corner!
