IMPORTANT:  Note the unusual draw times on Weeks 3 and 14.

League dues are $225 each (or $180 each for a 5 person team) plus a $25 membership, and due by December 1.  Lockers are $15 extra when available.  You can Interac eTransfer to kaslocurling@gmail.com, no password required, or leave cash or a cheque with Kathy Alexanders or Dan Quigley.

Time to get this season started!

Signed waivers are required for all participants, and an annual club membership of $25 is required by your third session on the ice (excluding Learn to Curls). 

• Thursday, Oct 19 and Friday, Oct 20 – League curling starts 

We have 14 teams confirmed with a possibility of 15, which is delaying the schedule at the moment.  Team rosters and the schedule to Xmas will be emailed and posted to the website as soon as they’re ready, and Al will be making calls the second the schedule is done.

• Wednesday, Oct 18 at 5 pm – Skip’s meeting

This is to go over skip’s etiquette and general info about spares, first aid, etc.

League teams are STRONGLY encouraged to send their skip and/or vice.  The meeting is also open to anyone who plays skip or vice and doesn’t want to be accidentally annoying in the house. 

• Tuesday, Oct 17, 12 noon – 2:30 pm – Tuesday and Thursday afternoon drop-in starts

The first week, Oct 17 and 19, will be free and then the charge will be $8 per game. Sessions run from 12 noon to 2:30 pm.   

These casual drop-in sessions are also really good for new curlers as there will be people there who can show you the basics and introduce you to the club.  Don’t be shy!

• 10-pack cards for $80 will be available for purchase.

These cards are refundable and transferable, and can be used both for afternoon drop-in and for sparing in League games if you’re not on a team (curlers on League teams can spare for other teams at no charge).  The purpose of the 10-pack cards is to reduce dealing with cash.

• Tuesday, Oct 24, 6 – 8 pm – Learn To Curl (free)

If someone you know is curious about curling, please share the date and tell them to wear loose or stretchy pants, running shoes and a sweater or jacket.  Some people will also want a toque, earmuffs and/or gloves.  All equipment is provided.

The club will be open this Tuesday, Oct 10 and Thursday, Oct 12 from 6 – 8 pm for practice, no charge.  All members are welcome.

Also, if you’re new to curling and/or Kaslo then this is a good chance to check out the club before deciding to become a member.  There will be members there on both nights who can show you around and introduce you to the basics of the game.

We will close up if no one else is there at 7 pm, so please let us know if you’re going to be later than that.
