Curling Etiquette

To help keep the the ice awesome and everybody happy, the club asks that you please respect the etiquette points listed in the image below, also posted at the club.

In particular:

1) Don’t Burn The Ice!
Do not leave your knee or hand on the ice after your delivery. It only takes 3 seconds to melt the ice.

2) Be Ready To Throw
You should be in the hack with your rock already cleaned when your skip puts down their broom. The lead throwing the first rock of an end should get in the hack immediately with their rock, and let other players clear rocks from the house. Skips should hustle from the house to the hack when it’s their turn. Hurry! Hurry hard!

Novice League starts Oct 22

NoviceLeague_2019Here’s an opportunity for newbies to get into the game, or for those with a little experience to learn to skip in a low stress environment.

First and second year members are invited to register for a 6 game Novice League:

Tuesdays  6:30 – 8 pm
Oct 22, Oct 29, Nov 5

Saturdays  1 – 2:30 pm
Oct 26, Nov 2, Nov 9

Games will be 4 to 6 ends.  There will be a certified coach providing instruction throughout the game, so don’t worry if you didn’t make it to a Learn to Curl session.  Stick curlers are always welcome.

Cost is a $20 membership plus $5 per game.  Register by emailing kaslocurling@gmail.com, or sign up on the sheet at the club.  Payment can be made just before the game.

Attendance at all 6 games is not required!  However, this is not a drop-in session.  Just like in a regular curling league, please let us know if you can’t make a date so we can find a spare to take your place.
