Al Barclay – organized the September Swing and Sweep (aka Rock and Roll) golf and curling tournament on Sept 28-29 as a private event.  Eight teams of 4 participated, including several players from Nelson and Castlegar, in a 9 hole golf scramble, three 6 six-end curling games and dinner.  In addition to doing a fantastic job organizing and making the ice, Al subsequently donated the proceeds of $740 from the event to the curling club.  The club bar also brought in $1425 that weekend.

Columbia Basin Trust Community Initiatives and Affected Areas Grants

  • Columbia Basin Trust provided $5,307 in funding ($3,674 for Community Initiatives and $1633 for Affected Areas) to help us replace our $20,000 dehumidifier in 2019.
  • Village of Kaslo residents and the “up the lake” folks in Lardeau, Meadow Creek, Argenta and surrounding areas generously voted to support our request for CBT grant funding.
  • Several curling club members took the time to attend the grant meetings and cast their vote… thank you!
